EASel INSTITUTES
Faculty Development Institute
Experiential Competency for ‘Faculty of the Practice’ on Service-/Project-Based (e)Learning Design. Development and deployment of Instructional/e-Learning Designs which support experiential service-/project-based (e)learning programs integrating training on epidemiology & analytics design in course-based research/practice projects.
Rooted in the Real World, Solving Real-World Grand Challenges in Public Health Capacity!
Real-World EASeL Faculty Development
Real-World Focus & Emphasis
The Institute focuses on providing a virtual ecosystem in which low-resourced individuals and entities in population health fields (incl. public health/healthcare agencies, practitioners, innovators, industry and academic partners) can collaborate on capacity augmentation and development – and nurture real-world faculty who can become world-class Faculty of the Practice of Applied Epidemiology &/or Faculty of the Innovation of Health Analytics. More specifically, real world faculty capable of launching experiential CIISLEARNing initiatives in the 3 EASeL domains, namely Epidemiology, Analytics and Service-/Project-based e-Learning.
In pursuit of these objectives, the Institute collaborates with other institutes and external partners/participants to host a number of key interlocking real-world offerings for advancement of experiential competencies in the Innovation of Experiential CIISLEARNing Initiatives within an integrated EASeL Framework.
IEPH’s Virtual Ecosystem for Real-World/Experiential CIISLEARNing
IEPH’s online platforms offer a global virtual ecosystem through which the Institute supports affiliated Colleges (CAE – Applied Epidemiology, & CHA – Health Analytics) which benchmark and co-host Real-World Faculty-Scholar Pathways (FSPs) and EASeL Innovation (Col)Lab-R-tory projects culminating in launch of e-learning/blended format training programs which integrate new/existing EASeL content within service-/project-based experiential (e)learning (incl. programs on how to conduct research with online partners) following the (Col)Lab-R-tory model.
Real World Opportunities for Faculty-Scholars
- Two Faculty-Scholar Pathways (FSPs) in tabs below equip real world practitioners/innovators with the ability (both skills & systems) to launch capacity augmentation & development through practice-/project-based experiential CIISLEARNing initiatives in real world settings which bring together health agencies, academia, and industry. The FSPs for practitioners & innovators culminate in careers such as:
- Faculty of the Practice of Applied Epidemiology; &/or
- Faculty of the Innovation of Health Analytics;
- EASeL Innovation (Col)Lab-R-tory projects – integrating ecourse-based experiential CIISLEARNing modules/activities within projects undertaken to innovate solutions addressing many real world grand challenges in public health;
- Real-World e-Colloquium – fora which offer guidance, mentorship, & peer review through the global HIIT-CIISLEARNetwork; & ultimately
- Advancing EASeL capacity augmentation and development towards real-world evidence-based policy, practice & implementation-program innovation in support of population health improvement.
The Real-World/Experiential CIISLEANing Model Advantage
Separate Yourself!
From the Pack!
Sage-on-the-Stage vs. Co-Learning Approaches
Rather than employ the sage-on-the-stage model that’s followed by traditional training programs (and even ‘high-powered’ consultants offering solutions with no sustainable skill development), faculty-scholars in programs following the CIISLEARNing experiential co-learning model are guided/mentored through a 3-stage “learn-as-you-do” series of eCourse-based (Col)Lab-R-tories focused on development of training projects. More specifically, the 3-stages entail conceptualization/design thinking; innovation & development/piloting; and implementation and monitoring/evaluation of training projects which utilize practice-/project-based experiential CIISLEARNing approaches (blending online and face-to-face formats).
If You Are
in EARLY-MID CAREER STAGE, & a HIGHLY-MOTIVATED TECHNICALLY STRONG Public Health/Applied Epidemiology Practitioner or a Health Analytics/Data Science Innovator ….
IEPH wants YOU!
FSPs Combine SUBSTANTANTIVE Real World Experience w/ Excellence, Leading to Credible:
-Faculty of the Practice of Applied Epidemiology, &
-Faculty of the Innovation of Health Analytics!
Experiential CIISLEARNing maximizes EASeL innovation potential through:
- Learning-by-doing in Training Project Development within real world partnerships; and
- Bridging the disjunction between practice, industry and academia, towards enhancing capacity for addressing major real world health challenges;
